What's Happening
Hello Teams & Class Representatives,

RE: Urgent Action Required: Prepare for July Race on Lake Ontario

On behalf of RWO and our large & dedicated Toronto Support Team, we’re excited about the upcoming July Race on Lake Ontario. With less than four months remaining, this time-sensitive email outlines critical steps to ensure smooth border crossings for all participants.

KEY ACTIONS:
  1. BORDER PREPARATION GUIDE
    • Access our resource page here: [TORONTO CHECKLIST] for essential information.
    • CRITICAL DEADLINE: Anyone with inadmissible criminality in Canada (ie; DUI) must begin Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) paperwork immediately to avoid entry denial.
  2. CUSTOMS & DOCUMENTATION
    • Partnering with Cross Connect, we’ve prepared documents for download, completion, and presentation at the border.
    • REQUIRED: Complete the Customs & Transportation Services Order Form to register your team with our customs partner ASAP to start the dialogue with them.
    • Watch the video for better understanding of some of the requirements.
    • Refer to page 2 of the Dear Race Competitor for bond & brokerage fees.
  3. CLASS REPRESENTATIVES (Win, Randy, Jim, Taylor, Steve, Ryan)
    • Forward this email to your entire class and new 2025 race teams to ensure compliance.
    • Make sure team owners forward to their crew, drivers & throttleman
    • Please conduct a roll call and provide boat names & boat number of intended participants to RWO by March 31st.
    • RWO will forward intended participants to Toronto Partners
  4. ON-SITE SUPPORT
    • Cross Connect will assist at the race site prior to departure to streamline U.S. re-entry processes.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • The resource page is only accessible via the link below.
  • Delays in TRP applications or form submissions risk denial at the border.
  • Also the requirement to individually register with the border from the checklist, will also help those requiring a TRP
  • Incomplete or incorrect team paperwork may cause delays at border entry.
  • Teams & RWO equipment trucks will be responsible for Temporary Import Bond & Fee.

Our Toronto team and Cross Connect have laid the groundwork—now it’s our turn to begin the paperwork. While the video is brief, it addresses common questions and hopefully simplifies next steps.

Thank you all for your cooperation.

Wow, that's a lot of stuff to go through and kind of expensive if you have a 2 or 3 million dollar rig going up.

Subject: Important Toronto Update
To all Teams,
We have heard much feedback about the Toronto border process from my previous email and how to get our teams across the border. The team in Toronto has asked for a couple days to allow them to present another plan to us. Their efforts are to streamline this process like other large events, while reducing the individual (team) requirements. When we hear back, I will send out another email prior to your class meetings.

Rodrick

Subject: Toronto - Toronto Hotel Block Deadline
Morning Teams,
I want to advise all race teams that the room blocks with discounted rates in Toronto will end March 31st. They have to release the rooms at that rate as there is an Indy car race following our race weekend and race teams come in early and stay in these hotels. And to class reps I would like an intended list of boat names and boat #'s going to Toronto by the 31st as well. Thank you all again.

Regards
Rodrick
