Why'd you ditch the sig??
A coff a cuppy and a dazed glonut.
That actually had me laughing, I put it in my back pocket to use as needed.

You change your sig and avatar more often than I take a shower...
I don't really know what that means...

Thanks, they are my little jokes that match my mood. I was drinking sat night. Sunday I changed it.

Thats a funny quote, had it for years. Worked great for Dennys after Kips.....

And the Bellagio sux for the kind of trouble we can incur.

We need to think about a place more in tune with our lifestyle.

Like the Chicken Ranch. :sifone:

Or the Hard Rock/Palms type hotels.

If we stay somewhere else, not only will I lose an RC boat in the fountain, I'll have to be standing there instead of in my room and I'll get caught.

Probably true. They're a 4 star. We need a 1/2 star......:sifone:

Or... we need an "uncle" with a 3 and a half star. ;)

We have a group. This is event sales. We want perks and comps, a half dozen free passes on non-felony shenangigans and somebody has GOT to have an uncle.

My cousin is the chef at Wynn's newer place. But that ain't enough juice.

We need a corporate sales manager Uncle.

Or a hotelier.

Which resturant? We couldn't get in in November.

I could find out. He is my younger cousin.
But I am embarrassed to say that I don't know. I missed his going away party and I figured if I was going out I would call him first. He went out back in the fall. Like maybe Oct? I haven't talked to him since. (Big extended family.)

I've laid back on this one- mostly to see where it was going to go. All in all, it's not a bad idea. The idea of doing it away from boats is appealing.

It seems like Vegas was an instant hit, but maybe too quick. There were no other ideas floated. It obviously depends on the time of year to some extent. It would also be nice to have the involvement of the performance marine industry. Let them show us some new stuff, etc. It would also be great to invite some of the legends of the sport. There's not much better than watching 30-year-old race footage and have the guy in the film sitting there giving you the back story and telling tales.

So...

Time of year- Other than Florida, most of us are off the water somewhere in October. The space between Thanksgiving and Christmas is bad, But after a long season, is everyone pumped up in November to really get into boat stuff. January is a lousy month- closing out year end and such. The end of February is the kickoff to boat show season. And after March, people are getting ready to get back on the water.

Maybe something right before or during boat show season?

Isn't the Miami show always around Valentines Day?

And for some strange reason, the LA show like the same week?

Then the Palm Beach/Fort Lauderdale show late March?

Is that time frame between, late Feb. 1st week of March, the only gap if it's not late January?

I would love to hear other ideas than Vegas. I actually start hating it after 2 days... but was thinking ease of air.

Anybody have some other good ideas? Because away from Vegas.... a group like ours has a lot more "juice."

If 100 people came to the Hilton at University of Toledo... they would be kings. 100 in Vegas.... whatever. Maybe somewhere in the midwest with a mild local code? :D

Chicago in late spring might be cool. The weather can be tolerable by then and there's some serious party spots in town. NYC is also a possibility. But it's expensive. The upside is it's close to alot of offshore guys.

The problem with a secondary market is the lack of restaurants and entertainment.

Vegas does have a couple of advantages. It's cheap and they have just about everything.

Many great lakes people could drive chicago. For me it would take less time to drive than fly with the added steps in flying these days.

The more that I think about it though... if people are going to take the time off and spend the money for a mini-vacation... maybe we should do it at a show, rather than ask the industry come to us.
