Officially unemployed.

I already threw something out there for the construction gig, and haven't heard anything.
Found something yesterday working for the county that I put in for.
County Housing Authority, working in purchasing/procurement.
But, that will probably take 3-4 weeks before they even start interviewing.
Pay was pretty good, and I imagine it would mean normal work hours, and the benefit of all the Gov't holidays...

So the November thing would work out well to squeeze in a few extra days for KW.

You do have a purchasing resume lately.

I thought about Phoenix Children's during a short Arizona tangent in about 2003.

15yrs in Construction/design/layout, with a side dish of purchasing.

6yrs in purchasing, with a side dish of Construction/design/layout.

There is your answer, design and sell side dishes to people who do construction, or who 21 year olds who lay out. :D

That's what I do!

You are going to laugh but....

How about pizzaman? Seriously- cash every night, free food, only a few hours a day during the evening rush, will help you know your way around the area, could hand out your info if you deliver to house with a car out front of a company you would like to work for, etc.

I talked to a car dude I know doing it- $50-$75 cash a night for 4 hours plus eats for free. Can't afford to swim with dolphins on that but helps pay the bills but more importantly shows you have work ethic vs sitting on your can collecting unemployment (they don't know you can't get it..)

I know 3-4 people hired in the last 3-4 months that were laid off and got "real" jobs this way!!

Check the local universities/colleges for openings in their libraries. I have some friends that worked at ours during the school year and they said depending on what you know how to do, they can pay 15 bucks an hour and its easy work. In the summertime when nobody is around but the library is still open 24/7 they hire a lot of non students to work. Not great money for an adult, but 15 bucks an hour to sit on the internet and do nothing ain't bad!

I spent the entire day on Monster as well as half a dozen other sites today, and applied for several positions.
Considering doing a temp. agency next week because even if I land one of these jobs, it'll be a few weeks before I'm actually hired and start.

Tim, the next time they ask what you expect for a salary, maybe "how much you got" wasn't the best answer. You may have come off cocky and were past for that reason. Just a thought.
