Officially unemployed.

Tim, the next time they ask what you expect for a salary, maybe "how much you got" wasn't the best answer. You may have come off cocky and were past for that reason. Just a thought.

Actually, the guy and I were having a good conversation, and it made him laugh, I immediately followed with what I actually expected from the job.
And it went further in that I was called back again, and they went so far as a drug screen.
My comment was more about showing confidence that I can do the job.
Come off as cocky - sure it did, but turn it around right away.
I think in the end, they got some schmuck that will do the job for about 10-15K less than I wanted.
And the job would have sucked anyway. I would have still been looking, and trying to find something else in short order.

I spent the entire day on Monster as well as half a dozen other sites today, and applied for several positions.
Considering doing a temp. agency next week because even if I land one of these jobs, it'll be a few weeks before I'm actually hired and start.

I been a temp for 6+- years. Havn't missed many meals. :lurk5:

I actually started my last job as a temp with no intentions of staying.
After two months I hired on, and stayed with them for 6 yrs.
Things may be in the works for me to go back.
In 6yrs with them, I almost tripled my salary and went into Mgmt.

Work when you want. Don't when you don't, but eventually you go spend to much money, and all you do is work. :(

I gotta say my hats off to you on this place(Tucson) being from the great white north
the heat is just unbearable. I have been here 6 days and it seems like forever the sun is just brutal, hurts like hell. I wouldn't even consider any job that had me outside more than the time it took to get from the car to inside with the beloved A/C!!!!! I will never complain about 60 degree weather again.

You know, I'm actually loving it.
Temps have been over 100 for the past 9 days, supposedly higher than normal for this time of year.
I'm not sure if I could work outside all day long.
I've been out working on the boat almost everyday after 5:00, and I'm fine.

You're still acclimating! Wait until that east of the Mississippi blood of yours thins out in a few years!

My friend on Havasu goes back to Washington every summer. Says too hot to do anything outside between June and September.

I HAVE A JOB!!!!
:party::party::party:

It's rough out there looking for a job right now.
After a almost two months of spending the entire day, everyday, rechecking the updates on all the job boards, and applying to everything I'm remotely qualified/interested in...
And coming to the realization that probably 50% of the ads are not real, and only trying to get you to further your education...
I've been out cold calling and filling out aps...
Yesterday, I went and filled out an ap at a different location store for the same place that I interviewed before.
Last night at 7:30 I got a call from the first place (where I had already interviewed 3 times, aptitude test, pee-in-a-cup test (hit it the first time, and didn't need to study)) to ask if I was still interested.
Considering I'm in a position with two houses to pay for, and some of the jobs I've been applying for that I would hate even more and payed way less, (and still not getting...) I said yes I'm still interested.
They called me back this morning and made me an offer. A little less than I would have liked, but a decent wage for the job/industry.
They already have all the needed paperwork on file, so I just walk in and start on Monday.
What a relief.

Everyone, Raise a drink this evening - it's on me!:sifone:

Thanks guys/gal.:sifone:

I was getting really worried that I wasn't going to be able to help pay for other peoples healthcare.:ack2:

I'm excited to get back to work.
