Cold and windy yesterday. Watched football. U of M smelled it up, State won, Western never even showed up. Maybe I’ll wax the cars today.

U of M smelled it up

I have a really tough time with U of M, because of Harbaugh.

On his first set of violations he received a one year suspension where he is barred from all athletically related activities with any college he would go to, for the next four years, for one entire year. That was for his recruiting violations, and his lying about doing them, in 2020. This was in additon to all of the games that he was suspended by the U of M for cheating infractions, and the suspensions he received from the Big 10 for cheating infractions. His assistants also received probations, fines, and recruiting restrictions.

They have still not decided what the punishment will be for the U of M, for him, and his assistant coaches for the stealing of the opposing teams play calling signals. They have proof he started doing so, or at least his assitant started, in 2021. It came to light that it had been, and allegedly still was happening, in 2023. Prior to 2021 he had 22 loses in 6 years. The last three years, where they were stealing signs, (they have admitted it was happening, but say everyone was doing the same thing even though no other school has ever been charged with it), he only had 3 losses. He never had a year with less than 3 losses prior to 2021.

The question is, will Michigan have to forfeit all of their wins for those 3 years? It is a possibility. The NCAA has taken it seriouly enough to change the rules to where the coachs can talk to the QB's now instead of signalling in the signs, the so-called Harbaugh rule. So, Harbaugh was able to make a major change in the way college football is played.

I actually think he should be banned from coachng for life, at any level. I have a serious problem with people in any sport who cheat. You've legitimately won nothing if you do. And if you get caught over and over?

And he bailed before all of the fines and penalties are handed down because he knew major penalties were coming for doing the things he was accused of. Justin Herbert is one of my favorite QB's of all time, (cause of his records at Oregon), but now with Harbaugh coaching there, I'm guessing Harbaughs already scheming in one way or another to do more of the same. His only punishment for doing what he did, no coaching in the NCAA, but 30 million for coaching in the pros. :cuss:

David Hale (ESPN) 'College football Week 2 highlights: Top plays, games, takeaways'

"It was a reminder that life has changed in short order for the Wolverines, who went from a national title in January to an utter lack of identity in September. The defense, supposedly a strength, did little to disrupt Texas' attack. And head coach Sherrone Moore has been hampered by not having the signals for every opponent Michigan faces."

I watch sports for entertainment. I don’t watch the news. They all can figure it out. I have enough problems to solve every day.
