Official... raise your post count thread!!

We went out and sat in the driveway with a drink yesterday. Parked the car to the side of us. There was a cold wind coming off the lake.

Mornin !:seeya:

If I can reschedule a couple of Jobs...it might be a great Day to bring the Boat to Little Torch...5 MPH Winds...

I have been towing my triple axle South Florida Trailer with 28 foot boat (about 10,000) with my 2006 Duramax one ton 3500 dually. Obviously, it works fine.
Thinking about dropping to a newer 3/4 ton 2500 SRW (HD, with Duramax) 4WD.

Anybody think I will even notice the difference?

I only use my truck as a tow vehicle and it is rusting where it sits from lack of use. I would like to get a SRW and drive it a lot more. I have always had a pickup of one kind or another since the mid-80s. I hate seeing this nice truck rot in the driveway. And I hate having four cars. Would like to have three.

I too have always had a 4wd truck. Had 2 and 4wd duallys. Presently a f250 4wd. Great all around. Duallys in my mind are hiway trucks. Local hauling not necessary. As a daily driver the worst. Ride to hard and suck in a parking lot.

The dually is nice on long runs for the stability. I have never noticed much difference in towing. The only time I really noticed a difference was when I went from a dually wrecker to a single. That sucked, only had that truck a year.

I know I will have to do DEF. But I have avoided it until now. I actually think a 2015 3/4 might have a higher WD tow rating (not max GVWR I'm sure) than an 06 with the same power and tranny. (I love the Duramax/Allison 1000 6spd.)

I would rather keep my 06 GMC with the Duramax/Allison if the choice is not another Duramax/Allison.

(Without regard to Wrink's experiences.)
