90 degrees right now. F1 in town this weekend. Supposed to cool off to average high of 80 tomorrow. 60's at night. That will be a welcome change. I am glad summer is over. It will be nice to turn off the AC and open the shop doors for a change
Man. I hear you. I hate winter, but our summer was so freaking hot and humid this year that part of me is ready to not be sweating 24/7.
90 plus and 95% humidity way too much this year. 80s and sunny would be nice. Or 90 and dry.

BAMM ABOVE!!!

Cool morning. Had to put on socks and a sweat shirt to walk my dogs. Yesterday was pretty nice near 80. 15 % humidity. Sky was glowing blue. More of that today and tomorrow. Perfect for F1 race this year. Said to be best weather yet for the event.

Put the boat inside today. Will probably get it out in late March or early April. I flipped my plan this year. In years past, I filled the tank in the fall and put it away full and then boosted octane in the spring. This year, I drained almost all of the gas and added Stabil to what little was left. We'll see if this works any better. I plan to change the water/fuel separators in the spring.

bought me a 454 mag, suposed to be in good shape but we know how used engine purchases can go....

for the price it was worth the gamble though....

Half the price of the 330 454 thats in the boat now, got 4 seasons of abuse on it..I think I got my 2500 bucks out of that one...

If the compression test and leak down look good, I will pull a cap or two, if those are good, new 525sc cam and lifters, drop the blower on and go.

With a full point higher static compression and stainless marine dry to top exhaust, should get me into the 70's

Mornin Ho's !:seeya:

Sounds like everyone is busy doing stuff to their Boats... I'm getting ready to order new seats(one at a time) with the flip up bolster.... I'm all about comfort.

W!

So I had this glider/bench that was my mom's. She sat on it every day. She and my sister would sit out there and talk. I remember putting it together for mom when she bought her house in the 80s. Heavy cast iron SOB. It started looking terrible with rust and dirt and the wood was phucked after being outside 25-30 years. Last fall, I pulled it off of the front porch and put it in the garage. This spring, my sister bought a nice new home. This summer, I restored the bench.
This week I surprised her with the bench. It now sits proudly on her porch. May it bring her many memories.
Here is how it turned out.
