Don't hate the hustle.

Let me tell you a anchor story! Saturday we buried a friend at sea. In Horton Bay with T and 16 other boats. Very moving day, I am sure no one there will ever forget it. We let everyone leave, the widow was in our boat. Once everyone left, we went to pull the anchor. Me and Ben could move it, but not able to pull it. No idea what was under there , I am sure Ryan was F-ing with us. Cut the line and put a milk carton on it. We went to West Marine Sunday morning and bought a anchor and a fender to hook to anchor for now. After leaving West Marine Amy text a picture of a anchor and line setting in her garage she didn't know was there. Yep, it was a pretty crazy weekend.

Some people from here went to Traverse for the weekend. Some knew Ryan. I wondered if you all hooked up.

Sorry for your loss. He was too young. :(

A few years ago, my neighbor across the street asked me if I would take them out in the Apache to bury her mom at sea in Lake Erie. I said of course. So we went, just the three of us. My neighbor couple and me. We went out to a certain spot, and the neighbor and her husband said a few words and she dropped this box in the water. And it didn't sink. So, her mom is bobbing around in the lake, and I am idling in the Apache. That wasn't going to work, so I pulled up alongside the box and reached over and grabbed it when a swell tipped the boat to starboard. I handed it back to her. So she opened the box and the plastic bag inside and started dumping mom in the lake.

(Hey, let me get upwind.... oooohhhh.)

I didn't say anything, but mom ended up all over the transom. I drove around a lot afterward. Some really tight turns and whatnot. You see what I was doing there...
Still.... some of mom is probably out by my boat pad.

The true cost of being a nice guy. :)

We bought a bottle of Crown. One of Ryan's favorite drinks. Everyone in my boat took a drink, then used it to soak the container.

It's cool that you did that Bob. It's a special kind of voyage, and requires a special kind of skipper.
But it can be very meaningful and an honor to serve a family in this way.
