Monday temperature in Holland coldest in continental United States

HOLLAND (WKZO) -- The National Weather Service confirms that Holland State Park's five PM temperature reading of 49 degrees was the coldest temperature of the day in the continental United States yesterday. Mount Washington, New Hampshire is normally among the coldest spots in the lower 48, and that location was a balmy 50 degrees in comparison. High temperatures Monday were about 15 degrees below normal for all of West Michigan, with the Lake Michigan shoreline not even hitting 60 degrees from Benton Harbor to Ludington.
