Before Obamacare, a patient with insurance would have been covered under preventative screenings, with a minimal deductible. Under Obamacare, they are only free if you are already suspected of having colorectal cancer. A normal, healthy insured person would be out of pocket $2,500-$3,500 with today's Obamacare era insanely high deductible.
Uninsured or underinsured can get them in about 25 states through a CDC program.
If you don't live in one of those states, and you can't come out of pocket for $2,500.... (and pay half up front in many cases) you are PHUCKED.
