As long as you're not shooting at the 3 0' clock ferry you'll be fine....

Turns out Oregon isn't the utopia we thought it was

Oregon ranks dead last on Bankrate's list of bad states for retirement for a variety of reasons. Its crime rate, state and local tax burden and cost of living are all higher than the national average. Its annual average temperature is 48.8 degrees, which is colder than the 30-year national average of 52.8 degrees.

Just got home, decided not to stay over night in Victoria. We are going back tomorrow afternoon to pick up the car. When I was a kid we'd go to Oregon for tax free shopping as a weekend getaway. I hate you can't pump your own gas. So when I drove to LA Id make sure I filled the Excursion up in Washington. 700 mile range when full, so made it well into California before needing diesel and thus avoiding getting fuel in Oregon.

Almost time to head out. Meeting the guy at 5:30, get the car plated and insured, hopefully make the 9 o'clock boat because its the last one out.

Taxes there definitely suck. I have no idea where they got the average annual temperature from though. Maybe they threw in some of the mountain areas where nobody lives?

I grew up there. It's cool not having to pump your own gas. You pull in, somebody comes out and does everything for you.....
