Hi Ho's!! 45° and partly cloudy. Not bad, almost sweatshirt and jeans weather. Should be the same tomorrow, boat show will be o.k. for walking around at the docks. Don't think I'm going to bother with the stadium displays, be Bayliner, Sea Ray, Boston Whaler and those kinds of boats. Not much worth seeing indoors.

Had to run into Vancouver for a meeting. Guy's hotel has a mall underneath with a food court. Lucky me they had a Fatburger. Bacon cheeseburger, fries and a Heineken to wash it down. Don't think they serve alcohol in the states or if the burgers are the same. If they do its hands down the best fast food around. They have a couple in Arizona.

Mornin Ho' s!:seeya:

We had two years in a row where the temps seldom dipped below 65 at night. Now we are having three weeks where the temps are below 65 in the day. (except for two Mondays where it was 74) I hope it's warm for the Miami Boat Show. In 2010 it was 37 at night....of course SOS had a party at an open air Beach Bar.

THE S.S. MINNOW AND CASTAWAY "MARY ANN SUMMERS" FROM GILLIGAN'S ISLAND

The legendary S.S. Minnow and castaway "Mary Ann Summers" are coming to the Vancouver Boat Show!

Visitors to the Boat Show will have the opportunity to meet Dawn Wells on Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23, between 5pm – 8pm each day. The actress is well known for her role as the loveable cast-away‘Mary Ann’ from one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time, Gilligan’s Island,

The memorable S.S. Minnow, the 40’ cruiser that served as the centerpiece of the sitcom, will be onsite at BC Place for the duration of the Boat Show for attendees to see. Thanks to her new owners from Quality Foods, the SS Minnow has undergone a complete restoration to ensure her beauty and seaworthiness are reminiscent of the era the vessel represents.

Make sure to visit Dawn Wells and the S.S. Minnow on the main floor of BC Place (space 642).

Ginger or MaryAnn?????

Good question, both have appeal. Mary Ann came out richer. Dawn Wells husband when she started the show was also her agent. They put in her contract residuals from reruns. She is the only cast member to have residuals from the show. She has made millions from it.

You can ask "Mary Ann" if she wants to smoke a joint with you?

(I hope someone knows that reference...)

Looked it up on IMD
It has long been stated that the entire cast of Gilligan's Island never received residuals beyond the first four reruns of each episode. This was true for the entire cast except Dawn Wells. When the show was picked up by CBS and Dawn was cast to replace Nancy McCarthy, she was married to her agent at the time. In her original contract she was to be paid $1200 per week plus the residual contract the 6 other castaways received. Her husband/agent said that should the show become successful Dawn would not benefit from receiving such a limited residual option. Believing the show would flop, the CBS executives humored Dawn and her husband and put a clause in her contract giving her long-term residuals should the show ever syndicate. As a result from that clause Dawn has made literally millions of dollars as the years have gone by from syndication of Gilligan's Island. This was never public knowledge. Dawn and series creator Sherwood Schwartz are the only individuals to profit long-term from the series.

I had a chance to meet one of the original crew from Gilligan's Island....turned out to be Don Wells....the lead Grip...and a sexual deviate....fuc*ing electricians are bent.:cuss:
