Hope everyone can stay safe and dry thru this next one

It's not looking pretty for our place down there right now. They have too many spagetti tracks going right over it, or barely north which may be worse. I'm supposed to fly back down Thursday morning.......

Mornin!:seeya:

Thursday might be a tall order....Depends on when it hits I suppose...We're going to get a lot of Rain either way....

Yeah, this one looks really bad. I watch the dropsonde's from the actual flights, check wind speed at elevation. The last one, dropped at 12:45Z (8:45 EDT), showed 116kt at the surface. Usually they show those kinds of speeds up high and the media exagerates that into a Cat level. 116kt is 133.49mph....... :banghead:

Thay did close the Punta Gorda airport, so I changed my flight to next Tuesday, soonest they had a flight going.

Depending on what happens, I may ride down with Michael Stancombe if he decides to drive down if his Dad needs help. He's working on the new JBS at Skater right now. Otherwise, could always fly into some other airport down there if it looks like the right thing to do. Won't know until Friday morning it appears.....

If you need eyes on your place I can drive up if you need an assessment.

I'm a bit curious of how long my 2 security camera systems will last. They have battery backups, but still need internet for me to watch what is going on.

Fired up the Generators Yesterday ...Probably top off the tank in the Van...even if it's 4 Gallons...

I'm not usually a doomer but this one checks a lot of boxes for severity. Hoping for the best for all you guys down there. Hoping the time over land is short and the surge lower than predicted.

Friend from Treasure Island is headed north.
Says he might even be back to Michigan if his area gets obliterated.
Now you know it is bad.

:(

I am looking at Treasure Island on a map. It's like those man-made islands in the middle east, sort of. It looks like strips of dirt shoved behind a barrier island. Other than Michigan turning liberal before our eyes, it's safer.

They shifted it our way. Now up to 12' surge possible. We had 6" in the house at the 8 1/2' surge level. Not good......
