Need to find a person

This is a longshot, but anyone have to capability to find someone with a name and an old address from the 70's? I have a 1941 Ford that was sold in 1970 and the title was filled out by the purchaser but never transfered to their name by the DMV. I would need a certified letter from that person in order to transfer or sell this title.

I you don't have any luck you can go the Abandoned Vehicle route.

I did that on a Motorcycle, and my Folks had to do it on a Van they try to give a way and the jackass never came and got it.

Basically you send a certified letter to the registered owner telling them they have 30 days to claim it. After that you simply go file the paperwork, and get a completely clean title.

I bought a motorcycle from a friend of a friend. He had never gotten a title for it because the guy he bought it from had a falling out and refuesed to give him the title. He sold it to me for next to nothing, and I sent the registered owner the letter. The registered owner eventually just called me and asked what the hell was going on. I told him the situation emphasizing the "poor" condition of the bike and that I just wanted to get a fresh title before I started dumping money into it restoring it. He was fine with that and I went and applied for a new title after the 30 days was up. EASY process, and might work well for you!!
