What was the final high number for the Mercedes boat?
This weekend was Bills weekend for sure. Everyone has their day and it was bills turn. They ran great.
We did everything in the world to prepare for this weekend. We had New Sterlings, new drives, 4 sets of new herrings. The one thing we didn't bring and ended up using more than anything was a .50 cent roll of electrical tape.
We tested for 2 weeks under different conditions and were sure we were we would end up in the Neighborhood as CRC. Basically we had the exact set up with a smaller boat so we were shooting for the moon.
Starting the first run on Saturday the Starboard engine would cut out, cut on, cut off and cut back on. This would only happen in the 145 to 165 range causing the boat to violently hook towards the rocks, I would try to steer away, the engine would cut on then we would hook violently to the left. Very scary. To tell you the truth the end runs Sunday, I was not driving the boat. Randy Scisms brother in-law that helps dial in all the MTI"s drove it. He was the one that aborted the last run and said to put it on the trailer before someone gets killed.
Bill and Randy Sweers kicked butt and deserve the glory, I bow down to them.
At the end of the day I went and fond Bill and congratulated him. He asked "OK ARE YOU DONE
HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH"?
I told him " "i am for today, everyone has their day, today was yours, enjoy it, you deserved it!
Looking forward to seeing you in Sarasota Muther ****er!
