Mark (Specialized P5-12) Needs Your Prayers!

Thoughts and Prayers for Mark and his girlfriend...speedy recover for both. Get well soon and see you in February. Team Whoz Your Daddy 531

I just spoke with Mark's girl, Mona May. She's improving well. Mark is still in ICU, his breathing has improved a bit but his liver and kidneys are failing. He's going to dialysis this morning.

Prayers and thoughts are greatly appreciated.

From his brother this AM. Somewhat edited.

According to his nurse he had a stable night. He has fluid in his belly with pain. A CAT scan showed nothing peculiar. A team of doctors who specialize in infectious diseases will be looking at him today. At this point they think both of them (Mark and his Girlfriend) have contracted the same thing, but Mark's previously compromised immune system is what's giving them worry.

Thanks for the update. We sincerely wish them both all the very best. Hang tight buddy, fight, fight, fight and have a speedy recovery.

I know quite a few people who have been sick since coming home from KW. There was definitely something going around.

Also, don't know if it's any help to the docs, but I know that there's a Dengue Fever outbreak in KW. It's blood-borne and transmitted by mosquitos. The CDC recently issues a health advisory for KW.

I'm feeling like today is going to be a good day!

I'm thinking the dialysis will clean out enough toxins to give Marks body the break it needs to start on his road to recovery. Positive thinking and prayers are being blast up to the big Man right now for you Mark!

Thanks for that info. One of our friends was down there and had read that and notified the family about it. Not sure if that is part of what he is dealing iwth or not. Lets hope MM is correct and the Dialisis gets hom over the hump to a quick recovery.

Update, just got off the phone with Mona with good news. The infectious disease specialist have identified the problem. They both got a rare bacterial infection, most likely contracted from his hot tub. This infection got into his blood stream resulting in septic shock. At this point he's stable and now the docs can give him proper treatment.
