Why? We wanted to end this and we were perfectly willing to kill the perpetrators. So what's to be gained in telling a different story? And why would we risk lying about an outcome when the outcome was what we wanted anyway?
What conceivable scenario do you think occurred and why would we want to conceal it?
Lastly, you can be assured that we're not the only people on the planet with sophisticated surveillance capabilities. At least a couple other countries watched this happen in real-time. And they would love to share any conspiracy evidence with the global media.

Not a conspiracy the outcome was the same I just believe the end came from a different means than sniper shots
FWIW- Two Royal Marines snipers killed a pair of Iraqis in 1993. The snipers were at a range of 860 meters and dropped the pair simultaneously. The wind was moving so briskly that their windage adjustment was 56 feet to the left.
Carlos Hathcock, the famed USMC sniper, took a NVA captain at a range of 2250 meters. He got 92 others at varying ranges. The longest shot to date is by Canadian sniper Rob Furlong in Afghanistan at a range of 2,430 meters.

Sean alot of people can't get their heads around the idea of shots of a target in motion but as a boater you should know the oceans and the motion associated with it is cyclical. The operators on the fantail of the Bainbridge basically had a solid position with little movement and the lifeboat in 2' swells really isn't moving too much, these weren't washing machine conditions they were dealing with. The things that were in the operators favor were the fact that they didn't have to contend with windage issues because of the shot, the bullet was on target in a fraction of a second. These were all good kills.

Unreal One rifle was by a gunsmith with traditional tools and one by Aerospace tolerances.. The .50 Machine gun round Bullet tip has not changed from what John Mose Browning designed back in the First World War the reason I said that is there was a rumor Wernher von Braun used that shape for the V-2 Rocket.Sorry to get off topic here.

Can you do it on a boat in 5-7s?? From one boat to another? Notice in the pictures there were bullet holes in the cabin portion. Makes me wonder how the Captain survived. He must have been laid out on the floor.
I can't wait to hear his story.
