Let's talk SVL's!!! 2010 is coming fast!

Well if you deemed the boat legal before inspection and the boat passed inspection after the race.....whats the problem....who was the inspector...or dose it even matter...from what I read, if the SVL Class votes on something and they agree then the rules dose not matter..

Did the SVL team all agree to let the Fontain race...or did the inspector say it was legal....if the inspector said it was legal and it is not...then there is a problem..

But did anyone protest or question the boat in the Class...

I just dont see how a boat passes inspections and now is in question....and the bigger question is if it fails now...who passed it in the first place..

Either way...it looks like someone needs to write new rules and address all that has been done...grandfather all the old SVL's in so they can still compete...and make it the new hulls must stay original for 2 to 3 years...

Good luck on this one....

I was really going to try but a bunch of stuff came up ...... I will be watching for pictures and news from there so keep it coming. Plan on seeing everyone in Sarasota..........will you be THERE?

Too bad, I may not see you until Michigan City then. There is only so many times I can fly ariound to distant races (until I get a boat to race....:sifone:)

Just checked into our room at sunny isle . First raceboat in the parking lot at the pits! The water is beautiful and very rough this evening. Let the party begin..

Great to hear you made it!!! 80-85 in the big stuff will win it!! Dont test to much. Im pulling for the rookies.:cheers2:

You might not want to leave it there tonight. No security until tommorrow.

This ain't like LOTO, your in Miami now!

Other boats are in town too, they are all in storage until tommorow.

Power to weight will somewhat keeps the boat competitive but I believe a heavier twin step boat with more HP and/or torgue and a very efficient bottom will outrun the lighter boat in a chop. Maybe, maybe not. The problem I see is policing it and that could become very expensive for the racers. If this is opened up and any and all engine builders are allowed to build motors for the class who is to say that the motors are not tinkered with throughout the season. In the event of a protest it will not be cheap to start pulling engines post race at the site and sending them off to be dynoed. I'm sure many racers run with funds out of their own pockets as any substantial sponsorship money seems non-existant. Do this a couple of times and racing funds will diminish fast. As money dininishes so will the boats. If the multi engine route is taken engine builders will need to be selected carefully and penalties will need to be harsh. Caught cheating, you're disqualified for the season, PERIOD.

There was a real nice kid in baggy shorts with his hat on crooked that was real helpful, we slipped him a c note, said he'd take real good care of the boat!! Lol. Hopefully it's there in the morning, if not it's insured, then we can get started on building the new fountain a little sooner!! Blahahahahaha

As long as Homey has got your back you should be fine.....uh....maybe.

Serously, you might want to tuck it in by the fire dept or something. At least chain all the wheels and drive to a tree!

Sleep tight!

Gino,

In response to your post 1011. I don't thimk racers should be able to vote and over rule anything. In any form of racing there will be personality conflicts. The guy who shows up just to race and gets along with none of his competitors will get nothing in a vote. Mr. 'loved by everybody will get the vote. Then you get the minority vote for or against that are not happy with the desicion. Make a set of rules, abide by them and live with them. This would limit any sudden surprises throughout the season.

Ask Jenny about going out the Inlet for the very first time two years ago. Welcome to the Ocean Lake folk!

Even if the ocean is dead calm, the inlet rocks and rolls with the change of tides..... remember not to tie your boat up too tight when the tide is going out!!!
