Hummer brand sold to Chinese

China doesn't need GM to sdell them D-maxs... they just need to buy one and clone it....if you have 100 of anything built in china they will make 500, sell you the 100 cheap and make money on the 400 unauthorized ones

The Duramax is a Japanese design engine,,,do u think the chines can't build one on they'r own.

The Europeans say the first Chinese cars they tested were worse than the Yugo. However, they do say they are improving....

For me Every Asian car is chinese and they don´t improve.
They´re all still chinese and BOOOORING and copies of either European makes or US. Always have always will.

Oh yes a Toyota Camry can go half a million miles if you change the fluids regularily but so did an Impala a buddy of mine had for a Yellow cab over here.
Oilchange every 3500 miles and tranny every 10th plus devoted service upkeep and no problems.

Besides In Clearwater there was a TOYOTA on display in the pits...

Actually Isuzu the designer of the whole D-Max is a GM brand...

Thats true but thenagain it´s not the engineers fault but the bean-counters...
Especially at GM.

Now back in the Day Corvette for example had all aluminum 377 c.i. engines in the line with crossram intake I.R. Webers, there was also a DOHC 455 OLDS Hemi, DOHC 4-valve Smallblocks, Turbo Buick Nailhead for the 1st gen Riviera etc etc and everything got axed by the beancounters and many engineers got ****ed.
 
MINI Dmax is/was a 4.5L light duty diesel for the half tons and SUVs. Placed on indefinite hold. GM is too stupid to realize they could jumpstart their business if they'd offer something revolutionary like this.

It wasn't the GM CEO that needed to go, it's all the middle-manager, lifer, beancounters that need the boot. They're stuck in their own beurocracy fighting for their last hoorah. A complete waste of good product design and engineering folks that get all their good ideas squashed by fat, lazy old folks. I guarantee you there is a layer of white collar managers that are just as worthless as the worst laborers on the production line.
