Me personally I'll have no part of any of this, even if there was a government program that would knock half off my home I wouldn't do it. I won't have the blood of this BS bill on my hands when it comes to call.

How about mandatory seamanship courses for PWC owners?

I'd actually prefer a "marine" endorsement on driver's licenses. Here in FL we already have a "motorcycle" endorsement so the framework is there. The "skills" test could be dealer structured so that new boaters need to get signed off with a 30-min in-water instruction. Pass one of the online tests and you're good to go every ten years. Every so often the new rookie cops get to spend a weekend at the ramps checking licenses.

How about removing State and Federal highway taxes from Marine fuel.....

Where's Dollabill? Can someone confirm truly whether or not Marinas collect and remit Federal road taxes? Actually, all state/county/city taxes for that matter? Which ones do marinas actually have to collect? Isn't that one of the reasons that having fuel delivered is cheaper, because they don't collect some of the taxes?

I simply purchased the fuel from the distributor. I never paid any "other" taxes on gas or dsl. Now, I was issued a strict letter that I could not sell the fuel for use in cars/trucks

I believe they do collect the taxes. When we do our annual taxes we can fill out a form and deduct the fuel taxes on the gas bought on the water. Not everyone knows about this. We save all our receipts and do it every year. I thought it was the federal road tax, but I might be mistaken.
