I don't do rough water much. 3's to 4's are about it.
I just like to go fast in the 1 to 2 ft chop.
My wife hates rough water. ( You can hear her over the engines with the exhaust open and my exhaust runs almost dry )
When the boat was stock with the drives 2 inches lower than they are now - It had a hard time getting on plane with Mirage 25's.
I intend to replace the transom this winter. There are some hollow spots but the wood is not rotted. I used a drill from the inside and it came back as clean dry wood. I think the glass is coming loose from the wood.
I figured while the transom is out why not reglass and raise it some.
Sounds like I will go up 1 inch.
I have to have some other glass work done anyways. Holes from removing the arch, radar mounting holes in the dash. Old GPS mounting holes.
Dash under the windshield is wrinkling due to the sun cooking it.
I figured this winter I would make it look like new.
I am going to gut the engine compartment and clean it up, smooth off some of the roughness that Wellcraft thought was OK.
OH and I have to have the engine hatch fixed after I blew it over at 80 MPH.
Ripped the lift mount out. I can't believe it stayed on the boat.
