Guess the hp & tourqe

Even i have the best in the industrie working on this project,,,i would still like to keep this thread up for MORE input !!!!!

Keep posting,,,it will help all of us to hear your thoughts on this !!!!!!

This engine should be fine with the parts listed. Rod ratio will be about the same as a low deck 540 which is one of the more common builds out there. Can't tell what cam that is but if this engine is cammed to peak at 6000-6200 it should have no trouble making 800hp. You might want to take a couple of cams to try on the dyno. The valvetrain is the weak point in any BBC. Use shaft rockers and good lifters.

Are there guys running blowers in p4 in the big heavy twins or could you or would that be a p3 bump up. did you see DEAN at kw,his boats won two worlds this year, I know he builds a nice 800hp motor solid roller motors 540 ish , did you talk to bob m about a cam? :seeya:

Wagmar??

My intelligent WAGMAR (Wild ASS Guess Made AT Random!)

763HP at 6100 rpms
750 Ft/lbs of torque at 4900 rpms

Should be a flat torque curve monster! Good for Goi'n around the Pins!

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

I'm guessing 800 / 760. Have you run NGK -6's in similar race motors? Seem like they may be on the hot side to me. Here's a picture of my 10.9:1 600" BBC while we're on the subject. Pushes my 23' cat right along!:driving:

I run NGK -9's.

I run 7-8's right now ,with the 12:1 racefuel on a 509 CI .

I keep fouling them up in the milling area,,so i thought a little hoter isn't bad.
Specialy on the 9.7:1 on 93 octane !
U run racefuel mix in yours , right ?
If u tell me u run 93 in a 10.9:1 u will burn it up anyways soon ,,no matter what plugs u run !

I have 2 tanks in the boat so I run 92 for cruising and when its go time I flip a switch on the dash and run the other tank that has 100 octane unleaded. I keep the A/F's around 12.6 and have never had fouling issues with the -9's.

Like i said ,,i also have a 100% locked distributer ,,on a 12:1 509 and the 9's fouled .......on racefuel 110 octane !!!

Maybe u got it going right with the 2 tanks then ?!

That is why i build this 93 octane engine ,,,less problems and same power or even more and at a better spot !!!!!

Hate to say it, but if you have adjust your idle and off-idle fuel mixture by running a hotter plug, you need to get someone else to do your tuning.

WOHOOOOOO, lets back up ...PLEASE THAT WAS MY OLD MOTOR !!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even whant to hear about that one !!!!!

MARK and BOB are helping me now with the new engine and what ever those 2 say is a go !!!!

Still would like hear some more guesses on the power ???

I wrote them all down to see who cam closest !!!!! LOL

DAREDEVIL, You sent me a PM, I spent about 15 min. to reply and you don't accept PMs or E-mails. NICE! Call me tomorrow. I'll tell you what I wrote.

That wasn't his doing; he did accept PM's up until approximately 8pm.
He's had a temporary status modification. Sorry for the inconvenience.
