Geico Sues SBI

What is interesting to me, Is SBI even worth $150,000 as an entity? If not this could open up KW to a new Org. Looking at where MGR is racing we can figure which it would most likely be.

The topic of this thread has been constantly in the back of my mind. This is a big chunk of money and a giant breach of trust. I don't really think the severity of the situation and the implications of what it means to our sport have quite hit me yet.

Naturally, SBI is not going to comment on this thread. But can anyone make a logical argument for SBI's side here. Anyone want to play Devil's advocate?

i think this link should be forwarded to key west and sarasota officials to see what might happen to the turn out, and what kind of people they are dealing with!

Would you be willing to give up KW for a year to get it back the following year(s) bigger and growing back to what it once was??

No!! :cuss: OK fine, one year, but who is to say that is the way it will play out? I doubt that Geico dropping SBI will result in a new org taking over in KW in a years time....is that what is being implied?

At the end of the day if someone burned me for $150k (or $150.00 for that matter), there is no way they are getting my "business" again. And on the flip side, Geico is a huge draw at all the races so you would think SBI would like to keep a good working relationship with them....

You are right. But it's a little too late to get on Geico's good side. They jacked them for $150 GRAND! That's not like taking your finger off the chip and then asking for a "do-over."

maybe not....the reason Conch Republic Offshore Racing was revitalized a few years back was to boost the sagging turn out.....money is always first before cuzzies.

I can tell you John turned down an offer between 1 and 3 mill within the past 6 months for SBI

My guess that offer was made by a group which included Gieco and included the Television air time that is in dispute. Today with, no TV, one law suit, may be more to come, only a hand full of racers, and a poor economy, I doubt it is worth even a small fraction of that offer.

Kind of like I should have sold my Citigroup at $65 :smash:
