Geico Sues SBI

will geico race on the sbi schedule this year?
Gee.... Let's see....

The organization embarrasses your team to your number 1 sponsor and then takes off with $150,000 of your sponsor's money...

Would you go back and race with them ?

Miss Geico will only race the 8 OPA events and yes all of those 8 events will be broadcast on VS. later in the year.

Scott Colton the General Manager for AMF explains the details of the TV package. If anyone has questions Scotty, Marc, Myself, Augie and Smitty are here on Serious and will answer whatever we can.

Please don't anyone throw mud at me for saying this, but. . .maybe the outcome of a situation like this will be the consolidation of the offshore racing scene so the marketing efforts can be focused to produce a higher level of awareness among potential fans.
:iagree:
That was my first thought. Sometimes it takes a situation like this to benefit the good of a whole.

The TV package that GEICO is going forward with is a HUGE boost to the sport and most racers should think VERY seriously about getting involved with the series. This is a stellar opportunity to get real sponsors interested in getting in on the bottom floor of a great program. The guy that made the BASS Masters show is doing this one and that show became a staple of cable programming. And we all know jumping a boat 10 feet in the air beats standing on the gunwale casting at trees :sifone:

Surely, if Geico is helping to get massive publicity and bring in more sponsors, SOS should be a big presence. Does this mean the big annual SOS party will be in Alabama?

Serious has had a great relationship with both GEICO and OPA since it's inception. Obviously we hope that will continue into the future and we will party where our members are, as hard as we can:sifone:
