Garage floor paint?

What floor paint are you all using on your garage floors? 3-year old concrete with radiant hot water heat. Thanks

Funny you posted this- I'm picking colors right now.

I used Rustoleum at my last house and it held up the 4 years I was there. Not professional series but good enough. CheifApache is the resource for the professional stuff.

Prep is the key- make sure the surface is clean. Muradic acid wash it and let it dry really good.

Acid etch doesn't cut it. You need to rent a floor sander and remove whatever is on the surface to get good adhesion.

Most of the really good floor paint is no longer available through retail channels. The EPA has seen to that.

Of equal importance-

Acid cleaning
Correct paint.

Don't have a garage anymore but I used it in my garage in parker and loved it.

don't wash the muriatic acid onto the driveway, will cause concrete to chalk for ever....
Baking soda will neutralize it before you wash it away.....

I agree, if your doing it yourself, dont want to spend too much I used this as well and it held for 5 years.

I used the Behr for the last house as I wanted more color choice, and it was terrible.

Also dont use black!! It looks awesome when it's new and clean, but gets dirty very fast and looks awful

PM me, I can lead you in the right direction and offer advice to get the job done right.:sifone:

This is what we do! My company does 5 to 7 garage floors a week on average and I have over 10 years experience.

I would be glad to help anyone out with their garage project.

Northern Cali, but we can travel anywhere if the price is right.

Im more here to give advice and a helping hand rather than travel though, I just hate to see hard work waisted due to poor information and products. (We see DIY'ers floors fail all the time)

I'm in MD- figured I'd check none the less. Thanks for the freebie advice!

I'm not sure what I am going to do- Home Depot stuff held up just fine after a 400 mile trip in a 8K LB F350 on a 95 degree day at 90MPH and didn't peel which is as hard of a test I'll ever put it to. I like to overkill things and do them right but it handled that just fine so not sure how much more punishment I'll personally ever throw at it.
