What's Happening
All Offshore Class representatives, Nice talking with each of you the past couple weeks. I value each and everyone of your opinions. Englewood Beach Waterfest Directors had to make a tough decision whether to keep our 10 year relationship with OPA. As you know they are not an APBA member. EBW joined APBA this year. This week after a lengthy discussion during our meeting we agreed to change our race date to the October 9th- 12th weekend. We have APBAs blessing for this year to be a Regional event organized and promoted by EBW. Our Power up Party ( meet and Greet) will be at the Waverly Restaurant on Englewood Beach Thursday October 9th, The Block Party on Dearborn St Friday October 10th with the weekend of racing and format to be determined.
As you all are well aware a large number of our BEACH accommodations sustained quite a bit of damage from hurricanes. Some place are bouncing back. Manasota Key Resort on the Beach and Bay opened this week and have 39 rooms available. VRBOs are also available. There are a large number of ABNBs and VRBOs in both Charlotte and Sarasota County within 5 miles of the beach. Charlotte may be a better choice. Some of you may want to make your reservations before they here this and raise rates.
North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Drydock Marina has been our presenting sponsor for the past 3 years and has signed on for one more season. We can not thank them enough.
We are very exited to start this new adventure. Englewood, from the beginning has supported Offshore Racing and looks forward to our event each year.
