Let me preface this with I love reading your work, thank you for sharing and it's interesting how you are able to come up with topic after topic after topic to keep things interesting.
That being said, your statement kind of caught me wrong or maybe better said off guard coming from you, one whom is realistic yet usually optimistic as well.
Fountain was another one of those companies I said had “gone dark,” and Washington, N.C., company has, according founder Reggie Fountain, has resumed production.
OK, so at least I was right on that one for a little while.
Came off to me as almost gloating that you were right and you care more about being right than Fountains viability. Just not the normal upbeat demeanor that normally comes from you.
Just saying and maybe others didn't read it like that but that is how I did.
Cheers and thanks for sharing! Keep up the good work!
So, so, so not the way I meant it. At all. I was trying to be self deprecating. But when writing is unclear, you never blame the reader.
I'm going to pull that from the story. That's the nice thing about writing on line in real time.
It will take about an hour for the line to disappear from the boatermouth feed. But it will happen immediately on speedonthewater.com.
Zero offense to Mr. Fountain, whom I know and respect, as well as any of the Fountain owners out there. I was definitely trying (and failing, I guess) to poke fun at myself.

I took this part as self deprecating and kind of "witty" if you will:
Admitting when you’re wrong is the mark of a stand-up guy, at least when the guy in question is, well—if you must ask—me.
I was just tossing out my opinion, didn't have to change the story or any thing and hope I didn't come off like a pr1ck. Feedback is good even when it is not good right?

Just to clarify- I think 5 is awesome! If easier I'll just delete my posts, some thing popped in my head as I was reading and just passed it on to Matt. Yes- I could have done a PM I guess but didn't think it was any sort of big of deal and wasn't bashing by any means. Just some thing I would have said hanging out with friends over a beer which is what this forum is sort of like for me.

Quick question. Approx 6 months ago I had info (good info) that said there were close to 100 new Donzi's at the factory or at defunct dealers. Where has that inventory gone to build new boats?
Wasn't there a thread on here & on Donzi.net about a guy who put down money on a New Donzi and was getting the run-around? (DonziAndy I think) they didn't have enough people at the plant to build the boat, but they had his money--------> IIRC

yeah he was spending almost 200K on a 27 with a 525 so the dealer instead got him into a demo/leftover 35 w/496's for the same money.
There are dealers with new 07-08's out there so I find it really hard to believe 5 people placed orders for new boats (with no sales booth) when that much new/low hour heavily discounted inventory is still out there suffering from "lot rot."
I never saw a Donzi booth at the show. Glad to hear they have orders!! Maybe this chitty economy is just starting to turn.
BTW: I know a dealer that has 2 NICE Donzi's - a 38 Center Console and a 32 Center Console. He needs to get them sold TODAY. So anyone looking for a deal - look up Harbour Marine in Norfolk. The Owner is a really good guy too!!!!!
