Current Points Standings after St Clair are posted

Dee,

Could you double check the 602/702 Batboat? I don't recall seeing Chris in Tawas, just GlassDave and the Purple Stealth Batboat. The Purple Stealth broke in practice in St Clair and had to be towed in on Saturday while we were out testing Octane. He did not start on Sunday, but I don't see him listed with even last place points?

Thanks, I could be all washed up, but I don't think so.

Reindl's purple Bat Boat #602 was in Ocean City & East Tawas. Same boat/owner just different people in boat. OPA allows one replacement during the season. In order for the points to remain with Reindl's #602 team, he must now complete the rest of the season the Green Bat Boat. He cannot bring back the purple Bat Boat to race in Port Huron for Points as #602.

I did not know that. You can have a different boat and different people in it, but still get points for the same boat/team?

He has to race the rest of the season with the green boat, does it also have to have at least one of the same people in it?

There's always a bunch of different scenarios.

Typhoon in Ocean City was Louie & Randy but Louie & Smitty in St Clair. Just like with Octane & Simmons Marine with a different person in the boat but still having Jim with them. Providing they pay the membership they can run in that boat. In Port Huron last year, Jim & Tyler ran Octane in Class 4 while Ed & Shawn ran Simmons Marine in Class 4 and where able to maintain the points. It's not the people in the boat, it's the registered boat.

Reindl Bat Boats are usually a pay-per-seat at each different race. Originally the Green boat was not going to run and did not register, the purple boat was to run only. Usually racers don't have a backup boat at the races but in Reindl's case he did. The registration now transfers from the purple to the green bat boat. Chris Reindl was in the purple boat in OC and in the green boat in St Clair. Now if something happens to the green boat, Reindl in NOT allowed to bring in a 3rd bat boat nor replace back with the purple bat boat to keep up his points.

In the past there has been things arise in where a boat has broken into pieces but was able to finish out the season in a different boat providing it fit the class. There has also been an occasion in which a team's new boat wasn't ready for the start of the season, so they started with the old boat and finished with the new boat.

Thanks Dee. I was just surprised it could be a different boat with different people also. I guess I always figured at least one person, or the boat, had to be consistent.

SO the way this is currently, someone could sell a boat part way through the season, and the the points would go with the boat, or stay with the old team if they bought a new boat, but it's up to the team where the points go?

In the case of the #602 Bat Boat Team
Reindl owns/ran and registered the purple bat boat in OC
Dave Sikorski and friend ran Reindl's boat in East Tawas (Boat ran as #602)
Reindl ran the green bat boat in St Clair and that is NOW the official boat to finish out the season as #602 for the 2012 season. The green bat boat is now the official registered #602 boat for the remainder of the season

Dave's talking about running the purple stealth. Would he have to start over with zero points then?
