Cubs beat crappy st louis

Crappy St. Louis??? Hmmm...yes the Cubs did win on Sunday, after losing Friday and Saturday and dropping the series. The Cubs did however take 2 of 3 from the Cards the weekend before; thus they are both 3-3 for the season series.

Current Standings:

Cards 15- 7
Cubs 10-10 (-4)

It's a long season and no matter; the Cubs haven't won the World Series in a 100 years. Matter of fact the Cardinals have won more World Series in their new stadium (in only its 3rd season) than the Cubs have won in a 100 years. This is the thing, Cubs fans are always taking shots at the Cards...they think it's actually a rivalry; I think they should actually win something before they call it a rivalry... until then it's just a novelty.

Cubbies play the Marlins next...should be an enjoyable series.

damn tommy ! cubs are up all time by a hundred and twenty games over the cards ! win ten more world series then you will be close ! in another hundred years you might catch up ! (plus pujols is a ***):26::26::sifone:

I haven't been on here much lately. Good thing Tommy Gun was here to stick up for the Cards. Cubs fans have to look to the small things, like a single win early in the year. Just remember Bob...September comes every year, and you know what happens in Chi town in September...CHOKE! :D

By the way Bob, I put $20 on the Cubs winning the W.S. this year when I was in Vegas. I like t play the longshots. :26: :26:

I got your back Bob. At least the Cub fans are loyal. If the Cards are below 500 the stands are empty.

damn straight !:sifone:

Attendance stats:

2008: Cards (4) 3,430,660 86-76 Cubs (7) 3,300,200 97-64
2007: Cards (4) 3,552,180 78-84 Cubs (6) 3,252,462 85-77
2006: Cards (4) 3,407,114 83-78 Cubs (6) 3,123,215 66-96
2005: Cards (3) 3,538,988 100-62 Cubs (6) 3,099,992 79-83
2004: Cards (8) 3,048,427 105-57 Cubs (6) 3,170,184 89-73
2003: Cards (7) 2,910,366 85-77 Cubs (6) 2,962,630 88-74
2002: Cards (6) 3,011,756 97-65 Cubs (8) 2,692,071 67-95
2001: Cards (7) 3,113,091 93-69 Cubs (10)2,779,454 88-74

Actually this is not true, at least for the last 8 years anyway. During that time the Cards were only under 500 once (2007) and posted their highest attendance ever. The Cubs howeer were under 500 3 times and in every insatnce the attendance was less than that of the winning year preceding it.
Thus the facts over the past 8 seasons contradict your statement and would indicate that the Cards fans are the more loyal. If you'd like to assemble and post more historical information I'd read it.

World Series won by team:

1. Yankees (26) 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1978, 1977, 1962, 1961...
2. Cards (10) 2006,1982, 1967, 1964...

14. Cubs (2) 1907, 1908

and the Cards were in the series in 1968, 1985, 1987

Just the facts maam'

Oh, and did you enjoy the Pujol's grand slam last Saturday?

cubs have a smaller stadium, you have to go back a little bit farther , chicago has won quite a bit more than 2, plus willie magee was the ugliest person to ever play baseball

I'm not really the type that likes to pile it on, but since we are discussing the Cards and Cubbies...

5-1-09

The Cardinals finished April 16-7 while leading the league in average, runs, saves and ranking second in ERA. They also possess a plus-37 run differential, the league's best. They also end the month on an 8-2 rush.

Here is the link to the World Series stats...they don't go beyond 1903; but we can keep the discussion limits to those within our lifetime...I'm ok with that. :sifone:

Cubs still 120 games ahead in the series , don't make me break out my Cubs fact book and post a whoopin on both of you Stl. fans, I am too lazy to look at that link, I will return with more info when I sober up (2-3 years):sifone:

The issue wasn't the number of tickets sold or stadium size. The issue was loyalty to a team. Facts say last time Cards were under .500 they set an attendance record.

Leave ET McGee out of this.
