I got your back Bob. At least the Cub fans are loyal. If the Cards are below 500 the stands are empty.
Attendance stats:
2008: Cards (4) 3,430,660 86-76 Cubs (7) 3,300,200 97-64
2007: Cards (4)
3,552,180 78-84 Cubs (6) 3,252,462 85-77
2006: Cards (4) 3,407,114 83-78 Cubs (6)
3,123,215 66-96
2005: Cards (3) 3,538,988 100-62 Cubs (6)
3,099,992 79-83
2004: Cards (8) 3,048,427 105-57 Cubs (6) 3,170,184 89-73
2003: Cards (7) 2,910,366 85-77 Cubs (6) 2,962,630 88-74
2002: Cards (6) 3,011,756 97-65 Cubs (8)
2,692,071 67-95
2001: Cards (7) 3,113,091 93-69 Cubs (10)2,779,454 88-74
Actually this is not true, at least for the last 8 years anyway. During that time the Cards were only under 500 once (2007) and posted their highest attendance ever. The Cubs howeer were under 500 3 times and in every insatnce the attendance was less than that of the winning year preceding it.
Thus the facts over the past 8 seasons contradict your statement and would indicate that the Cards fans are the more loyal. If you'd like to assemble and post more historical information I'd read it.
