They give you a concoction to clean you out. That part is worse. They sedate you for the procedure. And there are dangers of perforations that can cause sepsis.
But the alternative is a grisly death brought on my being consumed alive by a really nasty disease. This is one of those 100% preventable and treatable if caught early diseases. A no brainer.
And fess up. You've done worse to yourself in a bar or on a motorcycle or on a pair of shis than this is going to be. Time to man up and take it in the ass.

Had many of them Robert! As Chris said, the prep/ cleanout is a pain in the "AZZ"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The procedure is not bad when U get knocked out!!! Ya wake up & it's done & U want 2 Fly 2 McDonalds & get 6 burgs & 3 lg fries! Get it done by a gastroenterologist!! Good luck!:seeya:
my dad died of colon cancer, fought it for years, many operations & tough X's! I have ulcerative colitis that has not flared up in years I am happy 2 say! I get scoped every 3-5 years!! pro at it!!!:willy_nilly:
I have diverticulitis inside a seperated and torn colon wall, Doc says gotta be careful ....... gotta have it checked every two years, if the wall splits, it won't be funny...

Lost my father to colon cancer, I'm 46 and start mine this year. I'm not worried about it. As Chris said this is one of the deadliest, and also the most preventable just by being scoped. Tearing my ACL and meniscus hurt, scoping is nothing.
