I broke up a fight between two of my dogs once, got bit a couple times, the doctor asked what happen said I fell off my bike on a gravel road. After treating me the doc asked if I had dogs and I said yes. His reply back was next time you break up a fight throw pepper between them. He was a dog owner and just knew:rolleyes:
 
The staff was talking about their own dogs' posessiveness as we were sitting there waiting. Took our 'nurse' 2 1/2hrs to come back in and take the soaking solution.. then another saw me huddling under my daughters coat (she had my long coat) and gave me a warmed blanket. Ahhhh.

I cut my finger at work a long time ago and went to the emergency room, upon arriving they were having a mock emergency people laying everywhere pretending to be hurt, after sitting for about 20 min and no one helping me I spoke up loudly and got service
 
I fell down some steps when I was pregnant with my daughter and sat in the ER waiting room for 45 minutes with a broken ankle. No one ever asked if things with the baby felt OK, and no one ever checked. They finally rolled me in the exam room where I sat on the exam table with nothing to lean back on at 8 months pregnant and with a throbbing ankle. When the doc finally came in, he never looked at my face, he spent the whole time trying to look down my shirt. Once he decided I needed X-rays, they wheelchaired me into that room. I was rolled up next to the table, told to hop on the table and left alone. Didn't even set the brake on the wheelchair. After I almost fell again, the guy comes back in and tells me to be careful, not to fall. Duh. Then they argued, in front of me, about who was going to do the splint. They wouldn't do a cast because I was an Army wife. I had to back to the Army hospital at Ft. Bragg to actually get a cast. Did NOT endear me to ER personnel in the least.
 
In their defense and without rehashing the health care system, most ER's are overwhelmed with uninsured and those that really shouldn't be there.

Every time I've gone to the ER, about 80% of the people were there for things like having a headache and they got a free ride by EMS to get free aspirin vs paying to take the bus and paying $12 a bottle at the Quickie Mart. Even in "nice areas"- no insurance means the ER is your primary Doctor.

Gotta watch those paper cuts- they can hurt some times! :bump:

After sitting 20 minutes? Our ER's have a minimum few hour wait. Speaking up loudly doesn't work when every one in the whole room is doing the same thing. They are trained in my area that the louder they are, the sooner they will get better service- maybe even entitled to it. Some cave to the pressure, others can't hold back the laughter watching their silly antics. I love people watching!
 
Hey Crown, Is it warming up by you? Hit a big 64 here yesterday and todays low was predicted to be 70 currently 59, go figure:confused:
 
Had a follow up w/ Ortho Dr.. We did the right thing going right away, no signs of infection! It's 34 with a light drizzle. There goes my clean car. Boooo. On the bright side, I got a solid 8hrs of sleep! :hurray:
 
Mornin all, Our alarm system has been screwing up the last couple days, smoke alarm, anyway the guy from the alarm company came out and looked it over and reset everything, telling us were good to go. Today at 7AM it went off again so they're coming out again to fix it. The last system I had in Wisconsin kept screwing up, about 20 times with no end in sight. The last time it went off I ran down to the basement and started pulling wire apart until it stopped making noise. It sat that way until we moved:rolleyes:
