Chicks, Chips & Boats

Morning all! T minus 5 days and counting until we hit the road and get out of this frigid place! Taking the TrailBlazer to the shop today for the new transmission. Should have it back tomorrow, which will be nice for my birthday. The packing is coming along, will be much nicer when Chuck decides he should start helping! :D

Make sure you double and triple check this. Over 90% of the people that are told/think they are allergic to penicillin aren't.

Thank you for the advice. Its nice to know people are watching our backs. She was born sick and had a near fatal episode. Not just penicillian, but its derivatives, too. Very important words, derivatives...The Dr. commented on that. Was important to mention. She has an Alert bracelet, but does she wear it????:toetap05:

Jann, saying that she doesn't wear the alert bracelet made me think about something. Tell you you are taking her to get a tattoo. Of the alert bracelet. Bet she won't forget to wear that one! Is it something that she could wear on a necklace under her shirt if she didn't want everyone to see it?

Print this out:

"Allergic to ALL penicillin products and their derivatives".

Then tape it to the back side of her drivers license. (ScarabKV- if you do this, use clear tape- electrical tape doesn't work as well...LOL!! )

God forbid if some thing were to happen and she couldn't tell some body this info, the first thing most people do is look for an ID. This will give them this crucial info in a split second.

On the back of my drivers license I have a few phone names/numbers of close (as in distance) relatives and a friend, just in case. They say to put on your cell "ICE"- in case of emergency for your closest relative but I keep my keypad locked so that doesn't work so well.

We are taking Riley to the Dog Warden today. Maxx is going to surrender him. It's the best thing. Even tho he bit Britt, he prefers her lap to any other! Sad, sad day...

Mark, asked Britt to put that on tape and put it on her license. She actually agreed!

Is the state forcing you to do this because he bit her or do you feel he is a continued threat? I'm not blaming Britt by any means but IMHO from what you have shared I'm not so sure I'd agree with this action.....

Sorry if I am over stepping my bounds; just most dogs react, even if it was nothing she did, he could have been startled or his vision going or some thing along those lines.

Mark, your fine in asking. He is a good dog, but has tendenices towards biting.. nephews decision. He's un-adoptable. Maxx was the forth owner. It was too late to train him...

Thanks for the concern, everybody.
There are 3 weepy girls here today.....:(

Jann, I am sorry things are working out that way with Riley. Maxx made a hard decision, and there is a lot to be said for his recognizing that maybe Riley's problems aren't going to go away. My thoughts are with all of you.

:(

Ditto what Ange said. Thankfully I've never had to make a decision like that.

Dinner club tonight which means wine and beer and free food with no dishes!!!

About 5 hours till I'm on the road to Wisconsin. I can make some time cause no girls and potty breaks just me and the dogs:sifone:

1650 miles 24-28 hours depending on traffic
