morning, it was a crappy weekend, seemed more like Novemeber or late October, Labor Day is looking like it should be nice. Barb did I read your post correctly on the other thread, are you guys taking you boat to Maryland for the poker run, that seems like a beautiful place to boat.

What thread? She didn't ask if it was OK:biggrinjester:

Yes we are Donna. We are trying to boat differently. Pretty different, huh LOL?

Due to that we are cancelling the LEOPA weekend and another run the following weekend. While we would love to do it all, we just can't so we have to pick and choose. The Chesapeake run was just put together less than 10 days ago and we talked it over, and made our decision to do this.

I know we'll miss a good time this weekend, although you never know, you might see us for a day over the weekend with someone else. We know how to boat whore! :biggrinjester:

Barb, poker run by boat vs golf cart, not a hard choice..... So are you heading over with any other boats. How many hours do you think it will take you to trailer there. I take it you have guests riding with you.

Donna, start a thread asking who has room if you're interested. There may be others who are also. We're not going, although I really wanted too. The extra 3 plus hours to drive from this side of the state makes it too long, flying and renting is a grand extra. So, for a 3 day weekend, too much either way.:(

We need to get somthing for runners who want to travel and do runs, then reciprocate in their runs, started anyway. Seems like a good opportunity.

I hope we take other boats with us. Brian and Mandi are talking of going, we're going to talk to Jerry (Cliffored) and see if Dan Adams (WW) and Steve w/Blue Moon are interested in trailering there. We anticipate 8.9 to 9 hours to trailer, maybe 10 total but hope for better.

We wanted to boat differently this year. We have done that. We've had a great summer dispite the cooler and wetter weather.

We do have friends going with us. We'll split room costs with them, boat gas and gas to haul there. It'll help. I would post a link in the CBPBA thread and ask if anyone has room in their boat. There are many boaters who are members here. I would offer you a place in our boat, but I have a local salesman who lives in Deale and plan on asking them to join us. They are always opening up their home to me when I travel and I thought they might like to do the run.

thanks, I thought about it, but truthfully with the two LEOPA events we have committed to, plus Key West in November and no overtime for Ian we really should not spend any more money this year. Also my liver told me it will need a rest after the summer's over:biggrinjester:

Last night was really nice on the Detroit River. Thought it would be cold but the wind died down and the sun came out. Nice night, really.
