Chicks, Chips & Boats

That is cool.
I shoot a pump 12ga, so that has a little more recoil behind it, plus I go 100 shells or more at a time, so I do use a vest with an impact pad when I do that. Makes a big difference.

I may have her try some sort of reccoil pad, the prob is they tend to add a little more distance between shoulder and stock, which causes here to have to stetch her arms out farther to hold the gun. That in turn leads to control issues.

She isnt getting anymore diamonds until I get my .338 Lapua.:toetap05:

That is a good point. With my arm length... it is a non-issue. I bought a Browning vest at Dick's or Gander Mountain fairly cheap, and the design is such that you can add and subtract thin pads in the pocket. The pads are thin enough that it may work for Donzi. Jann is so short and has such short arms that she would not be able to enjoy a standard length shotgun. At all. It would be youth gun or no way.

Custom fit stock modifications are not all that expensive if she gets into it. Check with your local smith and see what they say.

That was exactly what I was going to do, but I started shooting the shotguns much less often and then we got busy with other things. I would have no problem getting my 20 gauge stock shortened for her if I start getting heavily back into trap and skeet. I don't see it happening this summer. ;)

Its the LT synethetic model with a full length stock, the existing stock would be tough to modify due to its construction. Ive got a few Remington stocks laying around that I could easily fit her with, but she seems OK with it for now. Her trigger hand isnt the problem with the length, its her forearm grip which is one of the reasons I opted for the 1100. Its not front heavy and the foregrip sweeps back into the front of the Rec.

Hi gang! Sitting at BWI waiting to come home. Been a looooooong day and it's not over. Rob wants me to clean the cockpit when I get home at 7PM tonight. Wow do I feel the love today.:(

Good news is the motors did fire Tuesday evening so we're thrilled about that.

Tomorrow we are putting gas in her and putting her on the lift, then pray for a nice weekend. Last I heard it's not loooking too good.

Off to Tennessee next week for 4 days.....off Friday for the upcoming poker run June 13.

Lots going on since I've been gone.....good stuff. :)

So your in the British West Indies?:biggrinjester:

for you shooters, get a real hobby like bike riding, where you can pump your legs instead of led:biggrinjester: much better for the cardio system

Barb where in TN, I assume you are going for business.

But you can't argue with the fact it's so much easier to venison on the table with a gun instead of a bike.....

Amen bro! Besides, dragging a 200+lb deer a few hundred yds across a corn field in sub freezing temps is much more of a work out.;)

Yes, training in Memphis and Jackson. They offer one early fight in and one mid afternoon flight out on NW. I hate that airlines. Have to stay Wed night because I'm unable to get out of there until Thursday morning. But, land at 11:30 and that's it for the week. Take Friday off in preparation for the poker run.

Well after filling the boat up with $550 worth of gas, we launced her and she ran well, and we are pleased and relieved.

We did have a little issue of the water line from the sea pump blowing off the port motor. Chalk that up to going back and tightening things down. :sifone: Lots of water in the bilge that needed pumped out, but that's all. So much for having a clean bilge for one day. :(

The lake calmed down last night and we sat out there until 8PM or so, then it cooled off a lot and the dew settled in.

It was a great day and the weekend should be a good boating weekend.

Glad to hear all went well! I want to go boating!

Today we're headed back to the shop to finish the oil lines on engine 1 (had to take everything apart because Tony decided to put oil thermostats in). I think he also wants to get the other transmission in and put the oil lines on engine 2. The dash and throttles are completely done.

Potomac River Poker run here today. I had some thing to do so didn't run it but went boating for a bit.

I ran 40 miles to the start, while the runners were inside I beep bopped 2/3 of the way back home to watch the fleet come by and then ran with them from there. They ducked in to the 1st stop and I sent straight to the 2nd/lunch stop. I hung out with them when they came there and when they headed to the 3rd stop I went home.

Going drinkin tonight!
