AMEN!!! I've been trying to get the girl to elope but she won't because of her family- all 72 of them bastards. Say wedding and the price goes up 10 fold. Average wedding in DC area is said to cost $30K- I couldn't find any thing on the water for less than double that! Hence; SC here we come!

Honestly, it's not worth all the money spent. My daughter got married in August. We spent a total of $8000 when it was all said and done. And her wedding was beautiful and everyone had a blast. They had 220 guest.

I'm getting my flowers down some. No unity candle for me. It'll be around 550 when all is said and done. We'll probably be able to have the wedding for around 12000. Where we're splurging is the reception at a country club. It'll be a really nice dinner. Everything else we're trying to cut corners on.

The girls parents were going to pay for our wedding but we had to do it the way they wanted- traditional with full Mass, unitiy candle, tux's, etc. Her Mom became too controling so we nix'ed that plan and going about it on our own. Her parents idea for a wedding was at $65K and counting- I told them they should put a down payment on a RV for me instead! We are on our own now and thinking $15K will cover it but budgeted for $20K.

I have a test I have to past.....it's open book so I'm not so worried, but Hazmat training DOT 40CFR is no the easiest. I'm halfway through the test.

Hazmat sux. I dropped it from my CDL. All that training and extra BS you had to deal with and it still didn't pay $hit when ya hauled it.
