It was a bad boating day for Brad Benson, owner of the go-fast, 50-foot Pass Blocker III, who started taking on water around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near Bahia Honda State Park after the escape hatch came off the boat as he traveled northbound. Benson decided to beach the racing boat near the Sunshine Key Campground in Big Pine Key instead of letting it sink. Florida Fish Wildlife assisted in the hoisting of the boat from the beach on the campground on the Atlantic side.

Yep, definitely not a race boat. But, I guess it could be. It is a 52' MTI with 1650's, isn't it?

Brad's string of "Pass Blockers" has been an impressive group of boats. Must have really pissed him off to have to beach it on the way up. I think this was his first big run in the new # III.
