Epoxy primer?

Don't ask my why but for some reason I didn't think any of the OL's are "gel'ed" and are painted??

I think gelcoat is waterproof ,,paint is not and also any kind of glass eccsept epoxy !!!!!!!

Can you tell us exactly what materials you use to do the joint that way?

you are left with an extremely thin layer to avoid any cracking.

Is there enough structural support in the boat to avoid flexing and cracking that joint or is the filler material flexible enough to prevent cracking?

I would say the last !!!!!!!

Remember this is a Carbon Fiber Boat... You won't find a whole lot of flex at all...

I don't know anything about boat building...that's why I asked the question.

The answer to the above is a little bit of both. The hull and deck joint is as strong as anything else on the boat or stronger. The filler material also has some flex to it, but the layer that is left is extremely thin. The following pictures show the boat primed and ready for a good final sanding before prepping for paint.

I do know a boathull and deck as to flex a little ,,just like the wing of an airplane,,or it would break off !!!!!

Its the epoxy that makes it stiff thats why they are so noisy on the water
just like a racing yacht... oops did I say that
