wouldn't it more cost effective to build the bulkheads to size in the first place ?? mmhh:confused:

Yes and no, the size was yet to be determined at the time of bulkhead install, and you want them to be larger than necessary to allow for trimming and a tight fit, however in this case they are much larger than required.
 
Nothing has been confirmed from Animoal House about what/which engines yet, it's possible they don't even know! ;)

Let them do their thing in building boats and let the engine builder(s) do their thing and get what "they" need to get done.

I'm sure we'll all know in due time!
 
Random question in general-

Wouldn't recessing the deck just a little to the hull provide more strength? If it makes sense; I'm thinking some thing even though both require tremendous force, it would be easier to kick a door that swings in open from the outside than kick it from the inside out even without hinges on it.

When bonded together it becomes one..so instead of a door and frame, you would have a solid unit.
