Seems like they could use a catchall of "imparied driving" where the cops can punch your ticket for erratic driving and then back up the charge with some subjective cognitive tests (documented via video or some similar means). Similar to what they do when someone refuses a breathalizer. I mean if you're driving in an unreasonable fashion and you are impaired in a way that materially diminishes your capacity to safely operate a car, it seems like good grounds to get stopped and potentially arrested, whether you're on the dope, qaaludes, heroin or cold medicine.

Then again, one of our country's greatest industries of the current era is writing painfully detailed laws rather than applying general rational concepts... Guess the legislatures have to justify their existence somehow.

In this day and age the illegal drugs have nothing on the legal prescription drugs the kids are getting not to mention all the good older people who think the oxycodene and valium that the doc prescribed for them are perfectly alright to drive on.

Last couple of years i wondered why my mom was such a space cadet than i happened to go in her bathroom one nite and saw the bottles of pills she was taking. There was everything there short of herion.

The #1 killer of kids in sw Florida right now is prescription drugs.

And as far as legalizing pot it is insane not to.
Most of the people who think pot is so horrible are the same old people like my mom who was walking around half catatonic from doing valium because the doc presribed them and oxycotine because the doc says i need them for pain and this drug because the doc says so.They believe everything the doc says.

Take the money from a pot tax and use it to educate and fight drugs like Meth and herion and i know many that would disagree with me and say oh no not cocaine too its not that bad.I have seen alot of good people go down the tube on Coke.Still blows me away how many sucessful people my age of 45 are doing coke on a regular basis.
