Anyone in Mensa?

Just curious..... If you are, are you active in groups/meetings? Is there any real value to being in it except for the fact that you can say you are in it? I suppose it would look good on a resume... :sifone:

been to a few of their get togethers (friends of my wife); really not the nerdy bunch that you might think

I started filling out the application, and took half the test...
Then I re-evaluated my life, and decided it wasn't worth finishing.
Take it for what it's worth.

Sounds like a bunch of blow hards that think very highly of themselves.
Just not my crowd.

They declined my application on account of my obsession with fast boats:sifone:

Of course my former wife said I wasn't smart enough. I showed her.:sifone:

Considering membership is open to folks who test in the 98th percentile... there are probably quite a few SOS members who could get in. That correlates to a 132 IQ.
There are about 100,000 members of Mensa.

However... I am pretty sure that only Nick could get in the Triple Nines Society, made up of folks who test at the 99.9 percentile. There are only 1,000 members of Triple Nines.

There are about 465,000 people in Mesa, so that is probably easier to get into than both of the above. :D

I did exactly the same thing years ago. Haven't given it another thought since.

And it's a very nice area. plenty of gated communities, and some even have small lakes that allow pontoon boats, possibly even small ski-boats.
It's not cheap to get in there, but not nearly like Scottsdale

What's the IQ for the 99.9%?

For Mensa you have to apply and take a test? Can't you just send in some score from a IQ test you took in elementary school? As soon as you have to fill out an application, I'm out. I chose my college based on the fact they sent me an application that was already filled out for me.:willy_nilly:

the first rule of Mensa . . . . . you do not talk about Mensa . . . . . second rule of Mensa . . . . you do not talk about Mensa. . . :leaving::D

I just googled "Mensa jokes" Funny stuff there. If I was a Mensa candidate I would know how to post them here.Unfortunately, someone else will have to do it.:sifone:

Boo, so close. The last internet IQ test I took gave me a 127... My sex IQ test score was 135. :sifone:
