Any Iron Maiden fans?

wow...you guys make me feel phucking old....my first concert was iron maiden, judas priest and ax.....rosemont horizon sometime in the early 80's...i took my first hit of acid that night....came out after the concert and it was a blizzard....took a wrong turn going home to kenosha wisconsin and ended up the the loop in chicago....haven't thought about that in years...

That reminds me of night driving from Toledo to Ypsilanti in my buddies Dad's car (his car wasn't running at the time) to go to a strip club because another buddy was trying to date one of the dancers.
One guy loading cigarettes with pot to smoke in the club (I don't smoke pot).
I remember singing all the hair on my face/head because I borrowed a lighter from a girl to light a smoke, and it was one of those huge torch flames
Bottle of JD, breakfast with strippers, and winding up on our way to Chicago because of a wrong turn, and he had to get the car back to his Dad to go to work in the morning by 7:00.
We didn't make it in time.

kind of off the Maiden topic but on the concert topic. Back in the day me and my group from school were going to the ZZ Top concert so we pooled our money and i was assigned to go and get all the tickets, like 8 of them. So i drove to the Head Shed (Toledo guys remember that place :D) and picked up all the tickets. Well i left them at home on my drawing table sitting in a Fender guitar string packet (they fit nicely) and my mom was doing some cleaning and accidentally threw them out while i was at school. Well i get home later that day and freaked out because i thought i lost them and new i put them right there on my drawing table. I could tell my mom went through and tossed some things and she said yea i tidy'd up and pitched some stuff that didnt look like anything. Luckily the truck wasnt coming till the next morning so i dragged the bag in the garage that i thought had my pile in it and tore into it and recovered the tickets, my friends would have killed me as we know all how money is at sixteen. Anyway i go back in the house and showed them to my mom and she looked at them and said "geeze . . i dont know what the big fuss is you got horrible seats . . row double Z at the top?" true story :D

somebody said spinal tap?? our amps go to 11, because when your at ten, and you need a little more...

The "Head Shed"...
Almost forgot about that place, record store/paraphanalia, Oh and incense...
Openly displaying water-pipes in glass cabinets...
Or am I thinking "Abbey Road records" - about the same thing.
Man it's been a lot of years since those days...
Lousy seats. - That's funny.:)

I always thought that Spinal Tap was making fun of Man O War... Auburn NY's finest... :D
Could have been, I just always attached it in my mind to Maiden.

actually i think they poke fun at a bunch of bands. Every time i watch it i see influances from lots of different sources. Maiden, Zepplin, Motorhead, Preist, just to name a few. The scene where they have the problem with the small bread and the lunchmeat that is improperly sized reminds me of Van Halens request for M&M's with all the brown ones removed, they actually trashed a hotel room after finding one once :D. Spanal Tap never gets old.

I was at a race once and a friend of mine was looking at the back of our boat and asked why we had six blades on our props. I said " well . . . . most guys only have five blades . . . an when we need . . .ya know . . . that little extra somethin to push us over the edge . . . ours go to six . . . its one blade faster (in my best british accent)"

prop story . . . another true one . . . anyone that knows me knows i throw movies lines out pretty quick :D

remember the head shop they had in southwyck mall?? talk about buisness plans, when I was 16/17 I had the idea of buying an old icecream truck and going high school to high school with the mobile bong mobile..selling bongs papers etc..... times have changed just a bit...

Rob, I can see it. But yea i think the time has come and gone for that endeavor. I actually bought a head kit from that place. Had a roller, papers, little one hitter and maybe a clip i think. That kinda stuff . . . . lol dont think i ever used any of it

Yeah, there are bands that I waited all night in the rain to get good tickets for that I got to see at small town rib fests for free a few years later. And then there are others that held on. It cracks me up that people pay a grand or more a ticket to see some of these bands from the better seats. You've got a 99.999999% chance of catching them on the way down.

As far as maiden...

"Iron Maiden? Excellent!"
