Glad to see this idea accepted so well.
Having run Poker Runs at both 85 and 55, I'll take 55 any day. No matter what boat you're in, there is a big difference between 55 and higher speeds. For me, as soon as I get to 70, it becomes a serious matter, rather than a relaxing ride. Sure, everyone llikes to make a quick blast from time to time, but sustaining those speeds all day long is stressful. I spend too much money on boating not to enjoy it.
NJPPC has had it right for a decade, and was rubbished by others early on. I think that it's great that the concept is getting so much support now. Next thing you know, people will start planning raft-ups and social activities into Poker Runs, and we'll actually get to know all these people that we've been running with all these years.
Hmmm - Maybe that's not such a great idea after all. Could be a rough crowd..... :ack2:
