50 NorTech at Auction

I saw a pair on a big Skater a few years back. Sage makes some fantastic products, but I don't know if it's a solution to an existing problem. It would probabaly hold up a bit better over 1K HP but the shaft/rudder systems are working pretty well in those applications.

The drive does slide up and down. The shaft is sort of like a 2/3rds length "arneson style" drive and it has sort of an outdrive-looking case above that moves it up and down and steers.

It does have the ability to swap gears so you can do ratio changes that you can't do easily on a 6 drive. Probabaly a benefit to racers more than the average guy.

Dave Wesseldyke runs them on the Jaws boat here in Michigan, and Jim Dyke used to run them in the race program too for K&R Racing in Ohio.

I think your picture may be of the Jaws boat?

Thanks
Jon

The top bid was 54k and they rejected the sales since it was 12% of the appraised value. They're having another auction on the boat May 2010. Anyone really intrested in it contact me as i have the hook up on this. The info i mention is coming from the closest sourse you can think.

Sure- why not?

Add it up- the hull, the drives and a set of turbines.

Obviously it's going to sell for less, but fifty grand?
