One of the very first races we worked and assisted in race control on the top floor of the Faro Blanco lighthouse. The same location my picture with "Mr. Richards" (DJ's code name) was taken that is in the 2010 30 yr. program. My introduction to life in the Keys and I thought that was hot stuff.

The Faro Blanco hotel and restaurant is leveled except for the lighthouse which has been hollowed out by termites and some days I feel the same way.

I was at that race as a 17-year-old and most all the Grand Haven races growing up. It was attending those races as a kid that made me want to bring a race here to Michigan City when I grew up. Good times.
