No mufflers at LOTO, no Boating, Water Patrol tickets you, then escorts you to your dock, until you are legal don't get caught boating or you will be escorted to the local jail, fact

Thanks guys but, owner is looking for a straight tip style. He does not like the thought of turn downs on the rear of his skater.

HCX Series Muffler.....

Hardin Marine has developed some high horsepower slip in mufflers that may work in your 1300 HP application, I just hope that you understand that ANY muffler that quiets your engine down WILL result in some power loss. These mufflers have been installed and tested up to 900-1000 HP with great results and may be an option for you. Check them out on our website here.

Guys trust me on this, I have tried nearly every muffler on the market. On a 1000hp or more supercharged engine with dry exhaust you will not get to a legal decibal limit for the j-2005 or running tests. The mufflers I tried did lower the readings by 6-12 dcb's but when you are at well over 100 dcb's you just cant get legal. I also tried putting on inserts and clamp on's and even that would'nt get me there and chocked the motors so bad they would barely run, and killed performance. I know the turndowns may be new to everyone and take some getting used to, but when Dave Scott uses them with their budget, you know they have tried everything, and he swears by them. they work, I have 2 great sources for them, and they are much less costs then mufflers.

We got a twin 1300 hp 32 Skater to pass the 90db test. Stellings and smooth running low idle motors were the trick

Yup, smooth idle down low helps. Turn downs are a must as well, they helped us a bunch.

In our boat, we have two round onboard tanks about 36" long and 12" in diameter where the exhuast mixes with lots of water, and exits through a large single downturn on the transom. Keeps pretty quiet, but will bark a bit from 30ish-50ish. Other than that, really stealthy at the docks and when running above 50 or so.

I have tested many mufflers as well. Downturns are on both of my boats. Skater and MTI. 1400hp and 83 DB at idle with downturns. CMI made mine.
Reversion is a non issue with the water so far away and so low. Testing one set of mufflers cost me a engine. Too much back pressure.

Think about it.. there is no backpressure when running on plane cause the tips are above water. So there is no loss in power there. Then, when at idle or putting around the docks, river, lake, etc.. you have nice quiet mufflers to carry a conversation. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Which ones. Our engines are around 750HP, would some work on it? Not sure I have enough room for downturns under the platform on the BT with the steering setup etc.

Your's look good... My friends tail pipes are exiting above rub rail.

It can be done, there was a picture on the other site of a cig with turndowns but he had to route all 4 pipes between the drives to get around the steering.

I will see if I can find pics.

I saw that, will take transom pictures and see what you think.
