Lucky and Perfect. 10 Meter

Lucky is looking great Jim! Thanks for posting! Don't be shy with the pics. You know we love seeing this stuff!

I was chatting with Jim, he has "Lucky" ready for the fun run tomorrow. Tested it yesterday.

Here's a pic of the old drive height:

He said he still had more work to do to it because there are some things out of order.

I'm confused.....

2015 July Reunion Run

We did not call it quits, we just took a short break.

We are planning a run. On July 25 this year, we will gather on Lake Travis to reunite and enjoy the lake with close to 50 feet more water in it. Our plan is to start at LAKEWAY at 10am. From there, we will take the long way over to the new Frogs, at the former Carlos'n'Charlies. Please help support the new venue by showing up in mass. For the close of the run, we will end up at the Gnarly Gar, where they will have bands and food and fun.

Our goal for this run is to raise the money for Make-A-Wish. Please come on out and help support Texas kids in need.

Still have not heard from Jim on how it ran. Hope he got a chance to run at top speed to figure out how well it does now.

Yesterday he said the lake was just a zoo with idiots in rental bots running around without looking or knowing anything about right of ways on water.

Just a few pix of the many steps. It hurts some times to be a OCD anal nut.

Took a lot of time to locate steering properly and get tabs where I wanted them. Trimmed the corner of the tab plate off.

Never liked the long tabs on this boat. I did not hesitate to shorten them for clearance. With steering mounted and hydraulics dry I made sure my tabs could not hit anything. The tape is marking where I cut.

ceramic coated aluminum.jpg

OCD again took over. After a set up new mounts and had alignment perfect I took it apart and had all the aluminum mounts brackets and backing plates ceramic coated. All aluminum in bilge is coated and matches handrails on deck. I have a few additional random pieces to coat in the future. Like my stern light and hatch hard ware.

Sand , paint, repeat. I brushed on 2 quarts of 555 imron. With reducer and activator added probably closer to 3 quarts material. I ran out would have put at least one more coat. May be 4 or 5 coats in most places.

Some of the highlights. Too many hours to count or even guess. Engines are running a little rich; not ugly soot the transom rich. Its been 100 degrees most days I run it. Tomorrow is expected to be 104 with a heat index of 108. Looking forward to the end of the summer when the weather cools to fine tune and try some of my other props. I would guess its will be jetted pretty near perfect for a clear 70 degree day.
