This composition combined whimsy with a well-executed homage to the classic jack o lantern archetype. It was well-framed on the canvas of a block, and the use of the straw type material for the hair juxtaposed against the hard, dense main form was a lovely exercise in texture balance.
This is not the artist's first work.
