Well, busier than I thought yesterday. Took Simmons Racing 34' over to Canada with a few people for the meet and greet there. Plus all the other stuff to get ready for the race. I'll be running the 34 with Jim and Tyler will run the 30 with Jim.

Looks to be between 25 and 30 boats here. 8 in Class 6, 4 Vee Lites, no Geico. I'm a bit surprised at that especially after they didn;t get the opportunity to race it last weekend.

A few quick pics. A whole lot of downpours yesterday.

A lot of boats did not get to test because of the thunder storms and downpours. I got soaked. But it quit raining long enough to go to Sarnia and back with only a little drizzle.

ANd the best back in Port Huron...

The first race was Class 6 and SVL's...

Class 6 was an interesting race, Once again it was the largest class, and after the start mess last time, there was a special meeting of Class 6 teams after the regular drivers meeting where the rules about lane requirements through the first turn were stressed. And there was a lane judge placed on the turn one boat.

Chatting with the turn guys and boats later, they all said much improved. Good work...

Another interesting thing, our announcer friend, Mikey, would be in the middle of the Wazzup II for the Class 6 race. Now, I know hard to believe, but Mikey had never been in a race until then. Many times he has been close, but this was the first. As Smitty told him shortly before the start, nothing to worry about. Nobody had been critically injured in that boat yet......

SO, we were all yanking his chain a bit, I don't believe anyone gave him depends like they did me in my first race though...

Getting ready...

The other class in the first race was SVL. 4 boats, pretty evenly matched. TugIt had a new throttleman, put them at a distinct disadvantage since they had no time to test on Saturday due to the thunder storms. Still, you'vegot to run it to learn it....

Start...

And the lap 2 Class 4 boats had also started to generate a bit of seperation. But, not all that much
