Has almost every BT thread turned into a Cougar thread? Well I guess Spikers thread hasn't....... I'm sure it would be much appreciated after all of his "joys" he has been through on the build.....

Unfortunatley, Spikers thread is kinda of like the "A" word (Apache) I hope he will update us on his progress and he can get that mean monster out on the water.

So, took the Chevelle to the dyno this morning.:banghead: 75 miles on a new trans and this is what happened just a tick below 5k rpm. Rear wheel speed was 141mph (3rd gear pull TH350 trans) :willy_nilly: (according to the print out) when the trans let loose. The drive shaft twisted along with the bell housing. Metal, along with the shaft spit out everywhere. :cuss: Funny thing was, the floor shifter jumped in my hand and i was scrambling to get out of the car/turning it off...... :smash:
Side note - John (BMAX) is about done with my spare drive and the BT is running great! :cheers2:
When we were using automatic transmissions years ago we always took out some of the clutch disc's and added steels to increase psi on each disc and removed some piston springs also. Adding more fiber disc's seems wrong to me but I'm always willing to learn something new.

What Endeavor didn't mention is that chunks of the bellhousing came through the floorboard, but somehow the carpet cought it. Also, the drive shaft just missed the guy running the dyno. Glad everyone is ok.
Dean Clausen? I thought you had learned your lesson after having him do your drives, but ya just had to send him your transmission to...... lmao :beatdeadhorse5:
